Andrews so you don't have to."

I want a Prophesy Orb!

I must be burned out on first person right now. Being inside my MC's head on this particular book gets to be a little much. I have a draft of a different book saved that I'll work on next, and it's in third person with a much less dramatic MC. I may try sometime but it's just not comfy to me.

And I just finished Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks (comes out in movie at the end of the month) and that was written in third-person omniscient and drove me nuts. Seriously-- it jumped from person to person way too fast. I did like the book though aside from that.Kristina Springerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03171504801682649341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3318840210070768346.post-39756299382365436402008-09-08T09:41:00.000-07:002008-09-08T09:41:00.000-07:00Lisa and Deena, first person is definitely easy fo...Lisa and Deena, first person is definitely easy for me as well. If you find good third person ones, Lisa, let me know. And good luck with your writing of one.

Deena, I'll take witty :) Thanks.

Marion, I'm excited to hear everyone else's answers, too!Emily Marshallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07073350248209507278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3318840210070768346.post-79933109340300868402008-09-08T09:23:00.000-07:002008-09-08T09:23:00.000-07:00This is great to be able to learn more about all o...This is great to be able to learn more about all of you and how you think, work, and grind away at this process we call writing!amuse mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17107288250737832143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3318840210070768346.post-8868036632961349622008-09-08T08:43:00.000-07:002008-09-08T08:43:00.000-07:00First, no one should have to "get out of" reading ...First, no one should have to "get out of" reading V. C. Andrews -- it's a childhood Rite of Passage!

Second, writing in 3rd person is harder for me, too. I only have 1 novel like that so far. Ironically, it's the one closest to selling first....

Third, Em, I would describe your MCs as witty! For sure!

Great interview!DeenaMLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01093257361683249174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3318840210070768346.post-76791706451855395202008-09-08T08:03:00.000-07:002008-09-08T08:03:00.000-07:00I'm thinking of stretching my wings and trying thi...I'm thinking of stretching my wings and trying third person for the next book. It scares me!!! I need to read some good third person books before then to get me in the right frame of mind, I think.Lisa Schroederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10677227681455190084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3318840210070768346.post-57131753112772089032008-09-08T07:12:00.000-07:002008-09-08T07:12:00.000-07:00Ghost Girl--I love the idea of a Glitter-filled su...Ghost Girl--I love the idea of a Glitter-filled superball. I have a few "not specifically related to writing" items on my desk, and one of my new favorites is my Glitter-filled superball! It just looks like a clear ball with a splash of color in the bottom. But when you bounce it, it swirls and sparkles like the prophesy orb in Harry Potter!! Love it!Ghost Girl (aka, Mary Ann)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10104992485564788542noreply@blogger.com
