I don't know what it is
about us writers but I think we all secretly want a writing cottage. Fess up,
do you? Ever since I first saw Cynthia Lord's cottage in her blog. And Laurie Halse Anderson's too. (Watch it. The video is AMAZING.)
And I've been following Kimberley Griffith Little's construction of her new writing cottage on facebook
for awhile now. Click through to her blog here and then click on her journey
and you can see the pictures from the very beginning.
Cynthia Lord posted a video of her critique partner's Toni Buzzeo's gorgeous writing cottage. I dare you to watch the video and not call your
husband/significant other and beg him to build you one.
How cute is this writer cottage?

Though I might feel slightly like a hobbit. Ooh, now there's an idea-- a hobbit house!

Ah, who am I kidding? My best chance is one of these.

ReplyDeleteThese are too cute. I absolutely want a writer's cottage. But preferably in Europe! I think your kids could make the last one super awesome for you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Megg! You're so good to me. :-) Ok guys, does LHA's window in hers not just KILL you? Soooo jealous!
ReplyDeleteI want a Hobbit house like this! Nice blog! I'll be back to read some more.
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie!
ReplyDeleteI also vote Hobbit House! Or possibly a gnome hole!
ReplyDeleteThe "hobbit house" is one of the six cottages available to women writers at Hedgebrook Women's Writers Retreat in Washington state. For free. Go to www.hedgebrook.org.
ReplyDeleteAs you can imagine, the competition for a residency there is pretty stiff, but it's paradise on earth and worth trying for. And it's a great organization to support, as I believe it's the only writing retreat for women only.
