Tip of the Day: YA author Saundra Mitchell wrote a fantastic article on how to blurb here.
Well, since we talked about TBR piles a bit this week I need a favor. My TBR pile is getting dangerously low. As I may have mentioned on here before, similar to Deena I like to have a number of books going at one time. So right now I’m in the middle of:So far, I’m enjoying all three.
A week or so prior Deena and Lisa suggested Before I Diein the comment section of one of the blogs so I read that and it was Gooooooooooood! If you haven’t read it, I totally suggest you get your hands on it. I’m not going to give anything away but I really found the technique the writer used at the end interesting.
I’m not sure what I should read next though and I always seem to enjoy books better when other writers/readers point me to them. I like YA chick lit and literary type stuff too. Not such a fan of the fantasy stuff truthfully. And I’d like to read something newer—pubbed since 2007 and up I’m thinking. And something REALLY good.
So help me out, what books have you guys read lately that just rocked and you can’t stop talking about? Leave me suggestions in the comment section please!
Kristina, Miss Soon-to-Pub

I love it when everyone talks about what's in their TBR piles, because it gives me more to read. :)
I just finished Shift by Jennifer Bradbury and loved it, though I think I indirectly heard about this book from you ladies. Funny how that works, huh? :)
Other books I've recently finished and loved are Skin Deep by E.M. Crane, Savvy by Ingrid Law, A Curse Dark As Gold by Elizabeth Bunce, and The Off Season by Catherine Murdock.
I'm currently reading Girl at Sea by Maureen Johnson and loving it.
Oh, how's Teenage Amnesiac? I almost picked that up last night. But my non-graphic novel reading has gone on hold because of my serious Fruits Basket manga addiction. I think I'll need an intervention after I read the last book in the series!
But I couldn't resist picking up Does My Head Look Big in This? It looks like too much fun.
Kristina, I love that you sign as "Miss Soon-To-Be-Published" it's too cute!
My favorite book currently is The Comeback Season by Jennifer E. Smith. It's a great book, even if you aren't a Cubs fan.
I'm reading THE POSSIBILITIES OF SAINTHOOD, by Donna Frietas. She's a class of 2k8 member. The book has gotten FOUR stars from each of the big reviewers. I'm not that far into it, but I'm really enjoying it. Unique premise, fun MC from an Italian, Catholic family, etc. I expect big things for this book!
My library's copy of HOW TO BE BAD isn't in yet! Gah! What is going on with B&T?
AUDREY, WAIT! was hilarious. I highly recommend it.
IDENTICAL is edgy, edgy, edgy and so good. I just hit a WOW point.
You should read Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson! It's new and so much fun that I just flew through it.
So weird-- I know I commented back last week.
Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions! My list is growing!
And Kate-- I really liked Teenage Amnesiac! I liked her first, Elsewhere better but I still liked this one a lot.
